Michael's actions
One Healthcare
Find My Climate Action
How can you personally help address climate change? Complete the climate action venn diagram at ayanaelizabeth.com/climatevenn and share your climate action in the feed.
One Healthcare
Random Act of Kindness
I will promote a positive environment and uplift others by performing 2 random act(s) of kindness.
At Work
Last to Leave? Lights Out, Please!
Lighting makes up approximately 10% of hospitals' energy use on average. I will save energy by turning off unnecessary lights when not in use and when I am the last one to leave a space.
At Work
Use Reusables at Work
I will keep 5 forks, spoons, and/or knives from entering the landfill by using reusable utensils when eating at work.
At Work
Report a Leak
I will prevent water from being wasted by reporting one or more leaky faucets, toilets, or other water leaks to my organization's facilities team for repair.
At Work
Go Paperless
I will avoid printing 3 pieces of paper by "going digital" and printing double-sided whenever possible.
At Home
Adjust the Thermostat
I will adjust my thermostat down 2 degrees from usual when I use the heat, and up 2 degrees when I use air conditioning.
At Work
Turn It Off
I will turn my computer monitor(s) off at my work station when not in use to save energy (I will follow my organization's IT instructions for keeping on, turning off, or restarting computers).

In Our Communities
Support a Sharing/Reuse Economy
I will create or support a sharing economy with family, friends, and neighbors, or purchase items second-hand to reduce resource use.
At Home
Choose LED Bulbs
I will replace 1 incandescent lightbulb(s) with Energy Star-certified LED bulbs, saving up to $14 per fixture per year.
At Home
Needs Vs. Wants
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
At Work
Prevent Recycling Contamination
Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will spend 3 minutes learning about which items are recyclable both at my workplace and at home since they may be different, and recycle only those items.
At Home
At Home Compost Reimbursement
Check out Espresa's Platform-- did you know you can get reimbursed for at home composting? Composting reduces GHG emissions by as much as 70% vs landfilling organic waste.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt HomeHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
Michael Arsnow 4/15/2025 5:45 AMI've been lucky enough to work with a great group of volunteers who've shown me how to take caps from medications and make them into beautiful murals! I took this learning to my nephew this weekend and made toilet paper roll race car tracks! Fun and reuse! -
