REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Repair an ItemWhat was the last item you repaired? How did you do it and what was the outcome? What are your favorite resources for learning how to repair items yourself?
Isabella Barraza 4/22/2024 6:28 AMThe last item I repaired was a sweater vest with a hole in it. I repaired it by sewing the hole and I was able to wear my sweater after that. My favorite resources for learning how to repair items is YouTube. There is almost always a tutorial to teach you how to fix something yourself.-
Jackie Luehmann 4/22/2024 3:05 PMCongrats on extending the life of your sweater vest! I also use YouTube tutorials when I need to fix something. For one of my repairs I was able to replace a faulty dryer knob myself for $5 instead of $200 for a repair person to fix it for me. -
rebecca drayton-o'brien 4/22/2024 7:02 AMI would like to get braver in this area but am afraid of making it worse. I use Gorilla glue for everything and fixed a pair of shoes last week

REFLECTION QUESTIONIn Our Communities Buy From a Farmers MarketDid procuring local ingredients impact the way you think about food or the meals you decided to prepare? If so, how?
Isabella Barraza 4/22/2024 6:26 AMBuying from local ingredients impacted the way I think about what ingredients or processes are going on to produce the food I eat. I was also able to think about how I could further incorporate items bought at the farmers market into meals or my daily life.-
rebecca drayton-o'brien 4/22/2024 7:03 AMI prefer just because of the lack of packaging! 💚🌎🌲

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Brush My Teeth Without Water RunningDo you live in an area that is water secure or with water scarcity? What other actions do you take to use water more efficiently?
Isabella Barraza 4/16/2024 5:30 AMI live in an area that is water secure. The actions I currently take to use water more efficiently are avoiding taking long showers and air-drying my clothes when possible. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Well-being Learn About Constructive CommunicationWhat is one way you would like to improve your communication skills? Why is constructive communication important at work and at home?
Isabella Barraza 4/16/2024 5:24 AMOne way I would like to improve my communication skills is reacting less from emotion and more in an effort to inform the other person I'm attempting to communicate with.
Constructive communication is important at work and at home because most things is life are a collaborative effort. When working as a team at work, you need to be able to effectively communicate your ideas to help the team function as smoothly as possible. When at home, your family unit runs on communicating what needs to be done or events that are coming up to run efficiently. Both settings require the verbal skills that constructive communication brings. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
Isabella Barraza 4/16/2024 5:17 AMCreativity is necessary because it allows you to work with what you may already have on hand. All it takes is time and ingenuity to create something that can be an alternative to buying something new or something you may not need to remedy a situation. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Well-being Healthy HydrationHow do you plan to increase your water intake during the day?
Isabella Barraza 4/15/2024 6:31 AMI plan to increase my water intake by bringing my water bottle wherever I go and keep track of how many times I refill throughout the day. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Switch to Cold WaterHow else can you reduce the environmental footprint of clothing and textiles?

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Well-being Go Get a Check UpHow do you practice self care? Why is it important?
Isabella Barraza 4/15/2024 6:03 AMI practice self-care by taking extra time to do things that boost my health and mood. Examples are cooking more complex meals during the weekend or taking a walk to enjoy the warm weather. Self-care is important because it overall improves our quality of life and our mental wellbeing. Investing in yourself is one of the best things you can do.
