Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    At Home
Which of the 5 R's was easiest for you? Which was the most difficult? How did practicing the 5 R's help you reduce more waste than recycling alone?

The easiest of the 5 R's for me would be reuse, repurpose, and recycle - I do these 3 daily. The most difficult is refuse and reduce. I refuse to use the dishwasher because I don't see the benefit in using it. Could be that I just love to wash my dishes by hand. It's also hard to reduce shower time lol. After a long day... I love a nice, long, hot shower.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    At Work
How do you plan to make sure you meet your pledge by the end of the year? What has helped you be successful in meeting longer term goals or resolutions in the past?

Continue to bring and use my own water bottles/cups. I'll also be more mindful of items that should be recycled vs composted.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    At Work
Do I need a lid for my cup today? Or can I skip it? Have I tried rinsing and reusing my lids? Do I know where the recycling bin is closer to my working are? Can I just bring my own cup or tumbler instead?

I'll strive to bring in my own cup for my morning coffee fix in place of using the cups provided in the breakroom. Although, those cups are a part of the "sustainable forestry initiative" which means they are recyclable. I'll be sure to do my part either way!
