Eric's actions
At Home
Dishwasher Efficiency
Hand washing dishes can use more energy and hot water than running a full dishwasher. To save water, I will scrape instead of rinsing dishes before loading them into the dishwasher, and only run it when it is full.

Find My Climate Action
How can you personally help address climate change? Complete the climate action venn diagram at ayanaelizabeth.com/climatevenn and share your climate action in the feed.
One Healthcare
Random Act of Kindness
I will promote a positive environment and uplift others by performing 1 random act(s) of kindness.
One Healthcare
Donate Blood
I will donate blood in my community to make sure there are adequate supplies for routine medical services and emergencies.
At Home
Practice the 5 r's
I will Practice the "5 Rs" — refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle — to reduce my waste more than I can with just recycling alone.
At Home
Shorter Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers.
Health & Well-being
Reduce Refined Sugar
I will adopt a diet free of refined sugars, which eliminates sweetened beverages, candy, and processed foods.
At Work
Stay Connected
I will schedule coffee breaks, lunches, and/or check-in meetings with 5 coworkers to promote connectivity in my workplace.
Health & Well-being
Less Screen Time
I will replace 20 minute(s) of screen time per day with other activities, and limit my social media use to once per day.
Health & Well-being
More Fruits and Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 2 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
In Our Communities
Donate Items
I will help others in need and prevent useful items from going to landfill by donating 10 items.
Health & Well-being
Gratitude
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for every day.
At Home
Meatless Meals
I'll strive for as many meatless meals as I can this month. My action for this challenge will be accomplished on a given day if my primary evening meal is meatless. My goal is at least 2 evenings each week.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Happy Monday, Team! The prizes for the EcoChallenge were delivered to my office last week, and now they are just waiting for YOU to win them!
Keep tracking your sustainability actions, and keep learning from one another about more ways to be sustainable. Folks in the top tier of points for the challenge will be entered to win one of three Beeswax supply kits -- containing a reusable produce bag and beeswax food container wraps. Other lucky winners in this tier will win one of 2 gift cards to ExistGreen, a local shop here in Omaha. -

Hello UNMC/NM sustainability champs!
Here's another one of the cool prizes the LiveGreen Ambassadors have lined up for participation in the EcoChallenge! If you score within the top 50th percent of points among the UNMC/NM team, you'll be entered into the drawing for a set of these swanky reusable cutlery sets. You can keep them in your purse, bag, car, office, or wherever so you won't need to grab plastic sets as often. Keep logging your points (and inviting your colleagues!) to be entered into drawings for bigger and better prizes! -

This is a fun platform! I'm learning a lot about other ways to practice sustainability reading through the recommended actions. I'm excited to track my own actions through the month.-
