I repaired my dog's towel coat- to use when he is very wet or after swimming. the seam had come undone at the front. I did this by hand sewing, and checked online how to end the stich as I had forgotten how to how to do that.
Have used the coat once since and it's so much better :)

Speaking of canine items--I repair my dog's toys. He is quite ravenous with his toys and instead of buying so many new ones I sew them back together. It gives me something to do with my hands when I am watching one of my kids soccer game or a movie.
