I like to make people happy or make their day a bit more enjoyable which in turn elevates my mood. It was nice to see smiles on faces or hear feedback later that they enjoyed it as most of the time it was done anonymously.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What is one way you would like to improve your communication skills? Why is constructive communication important at work and at home?

    Kelly Coddington's avatar
    Kelly Coddington 4/30/2024 1:30 PM
First of all I had to look up and read on it.

Constructive communication is an approach to interpersonal interactions that aims to promote understanding, collaboration, and growth, especially in a group with different and even contradictory views. It goes beyond simply expressing thoughts and opinions.

I think it is important at home and in work as it works to help all understand each other and the different views involved which makes for a better decision and outcome.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    One Healthcare Medical Device Reprocessing
Reprocessing single use devices reduces the amount of regulated medical waste. What are other ways healthcare facilities can reduce regulated medical waste?

    Kelly Coddington's avatar
    Kelly Coddington 4/30/2024 1:27 PM
Finding ways to use fewer disposable items when another option is available. Looking at waste-only opening what is needed versus opening extra in case it is needed. Only bringing what is needed into a room so linen etc does not get wasted-rewashed when not used.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    One Healthcare Donate Blood
    Why do you donate blood?

I worked in the emergency department for a long time and saw how blood products were often needed and save lives.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What are some ways water is used in your work area? How can you and your colleagues be more efficient with water use?

    Kelly Coddington 4/30/2024 7:04 AM
Our department has the basic uses for water in our department in the kitchen and bathroom. Everyone tries to make sure we conserve water with shutting faucet off between soaping and rinsing dishes and being prompt to report dripping faucets or running toilets.

    Kelly Coddington 4/29/2024 12:06 PM
I love trees and they make me feel clam and relaxed when I watch them sway in the wind. My favorite trees is the palm tree but love the midwest change of colors.(until I have to rake them all up)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
In Our Communities Support Diverse and Locally-Owned Businesses
What did you enjoy most about shopping at a diverse and/or locally-owned business? What are some of your favorite diverse and/or locally-owned businesses to shop at in your area?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Kelly Coddington's avatar
    Kelly Coddington 4/29/2024 12:03 PM
Try to use as little a possible and all natural cleansers at home. Using reusable rags versus paper towels or premoistened cloths if able.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
At Home Switch to Cold Water
How else can you reduce the environmental footprint of clothing and textiles?

    Kelly Coddington's avatar
    Kelly Coddington 4/29/2024 11:59 AM
I read a study that except for some very soiled items that detergent works as well in cold water. We try to use cold water for most of our loads and make sure we do not overload the washer or dryer which decreases efficiency.
