I have a time on my lights in frequently used places in my home so the lights go off after a 15 minutes. I also don't use lights during the way. LET THE SUN IN!

I also use efficient bulbs. wish my apt was in view of the sun, its in the back of the complex so I don't get natural light as much as I would like, but I don't keep lights on for no reason. I even have my power strips turned off if I'm not using the room or tv in the room. no reason to have power flowing to something that isn't being utilized.

Health & Well-being More Fruits and Veggies
How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet? What creative ways did you find to add more fruits and vegetables to your diet?

Eating more fruits/vegetables and less meat, helps your body digest food more efficiently, it also helps with skin, and your overall energy/mood levels. It also helps reduce overall waste on the planet and helps to keep the soil healthy. Some creative ways to add more fruits/vegetables to my diet are to 1:add them to smoothies, 2: add them to sauces, 3: incorporate at least 3 vegetables into a single meal.

What helped me most was being in a calm and relaxed environment for my meditation. It definitely helps get you focused and into a quite mindset.

I have a water bottle for work only, forces me to drink water during the day. I fill it about 3-4x a day as well.

I was thinking to develop downloadable small sign to post next to the switches saying "Turn off before you leave" or something like that (and eventually make them as stickers that people can collect from my office). Do you think it would be helpful?
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    At Work Reduce Animal Products
How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people? What is your favorite meatless dish or recipe?

    Nyasia Frost's avatar
    Nyasia Frost 4/02/2024 8:04 AM
Eating more meat creates more waste and lowers the amount of animals we have on the planet that help to keep our land fertile. My favorite meatless dish is salad.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    At Work Use Public Transit
Was using public transit to get to your destination easier or more difficult than you expected? How did your experience using public transit differ from your experience driving in a car? What do you think are the biggest barriers to more people using public transit in your area?

    Nyasia Frost's avatar
    Nyasia Frost 4/02/2024 8:01 AM
My experience taking public transit was relaxing. I was not expecting to be able to just get comfortable until my destination was reached, much easier than expected. Driving in a car is less relaxing since i have to be alert the whole ride. The largest barriers to more people using public transit is the fact that the nyc transit system needs a large number of repairs and to revamp many of the lines that they created to make it more accessible
