Antoinette's actions
One Healthcare
Environmental Footprint of Healthcare
I will spend 20 minutes learning about the environmental footprint of the healthcare industry, how it impacts health, and ways I can help reduce it.
At Work
Prevent Recycling Contamination
Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will spend 15 minutes learning about which items are recyclable both at my workplace and at home since they may be different, and recycle only those items.
At Work
Turn It Off
I will turn my computer monitor(s) off at my work station when not in use to save energy (I will follow my organization's IT instructions for keeping on, turning off, or restarting computers).
Health & Well-being
Gratitude
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for every day.
One Healthcare
Random Act of Kindness
I will promote a positive environment and uplift others by performing 1 random act(s) of kindness.
At Work
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 1 meatless meal(s) and/or 1 vegan meal(s) each day this week.
Health & Well-being
Healthy Hydration
I will improve hydration by drinking an additional 4oz of water each day. I will do this by drinking additional servings of water or by drinking water in place of other less healthy beverage options.
At Home
Repair an Item
I will repair an item, such as clothing or an appliance, for myself, a friend, family member, or neighbor.
At Home
Learn the Truth about Expiration Dates
I will spend at least 10 minutes learning how to differentiate between sell by, use by, and best by dates.
One Healthcare
Use A Reusable Mug/Bottle
I will keep 1 disposable cup(s) and/or bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle, cup, or mug.

REFLECTION QUESTIONOne Healthcare Use A Reusable Mug/BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Antoinette Goostree 4/30/2024 9:12 AMwhile I have always had a coffee cup from home, I have become more conscious of using a refillable water cup. -

Antoinette Goostree 4/30/2024 9:10 AMthis was a difficult one to remember and I caught myself going back to my desk often to turn off my monitor. It isn't automatic yet, but I am getting better. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Work Reduce Animal ProductsHow does eating more meat affect our planet and other people? What is your favorite meatless dish or recipe?
Antoinette Goostree 4/26/2024 1:54 PMdoing this challenge has helped me seek new sources of plant protein and preparation. I am enjoying the journey-
Zoe Anastas (SWMC) 4/26/2024 5:37 PMThat's awesome! I still remember when I saw Game Changers and Arnold Schwarzenegger recommended to start with just one vegan meal per week and make that a goal. Once that was obtained consistently, extend to two days per week and move on from there. My goal right now is to add different sorts of beans to at least one meal per day.
