Nicole Griffin 4/29/2024 10:01 PMHeck yeah, we're making a difference? I did spend more time contacting congressman today, not particularly a petition but just my thoughts. I hope it makes a difference. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONOne Healthcare Climate Change Impacts on HealthHow does climate change create and exacerbate health inequities?
Nicole Griffin 4/29/2024 9:50 PMBoy, so many aspects that affect all of us. Even issues that arise from climate change that don't directly affect us affects our Healthcare system. We're looking at Wildfire season coming up against soon. Human beings suffering from respiratory illnesses, more activity in our hospitals, this is just one of the issues! -
Nicole Griffin 4/29/2024 9:44 PM29 days goes by really quickly, even if each of keeps up with only a few of these practices everyday we will still be making a big impact. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIn Our Communities Buy From a Farmers MarketDid procuring local ingredients impact the way you think about food or the meals you decided to prepare? If so, how?
Nicole Griffin 4/29/2024 9:39 PMGo for it buying from the local green grocer I know that the meals we cook not only support the individual we purchased the goods from, but we also know that what we're putting inside our bodies is healthier than the typical thing you get in the supermarket. The quality difference is remarkable.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONIn Our Communities Advocate for Green SpacesWhat services, benefits, or value does nature provide for you? Why is it important for people to have access to green space?
Nicole Griffin 4/29/2024 9:37 PMBeing in touch with nature is beneficial, it's meditative. We're lucky that our campus has a beautiful Green Space too walk around, get some exercise, and contemplate nature. We also have a pretty fantastic Garden that I'm looking forward to volunteering in and hoping it raises everyone's spirits. -
Nicole Griffin 4/28/2024 8:19 PMStill going good. I've certainly recycled a lot more items than I would have. Mostly though, making sure my recycling isn't contaminated. Unplugging unused appliances, I didn't really know about that before. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONOne Healthcare Sustainable HealthcareBriefly describe the issue(s) you learned about. How did this information impact you?
Nicole Griffin 4/28/2024 8:18 PMTo be honest learning more about waste has made me a little bit more disappointed. I'm really grateful that our hospital system is taking these issues seriously, and I'm hoping to be able to contribute to positive change. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIn Our Communities Support Diverse and Locally-Owned BusinessesWhat did you enjoy most about shopping at a diverse and/or locally-owned business? What are some of your favorite diverse and/or locally-owned businesses to shop at in your area?
Nicole Griffin 4/27/2024 6:31 PMThis ties in a little bit with going to the Farmers Market. It's really nice to meet the people who are doing the work to make sure I'm well fed. I also love going to some of our smaller markets. I live nearby a couple of markets that specialize in Mexican and South American Products. So nice to have a variety and be introduced to different foods.
