Paul Goodenough 4/09/2025 8:09 AMYes Lesley! Me too. Have you noticed any work/life benefits from doing this? Personally, it feels great to walk into a quiet office space. Honestly my work laptop boots up so quickly, it is almost unnoticeable. And if there is a few extra moments to boot up, I use those to check-in with colleagues in the office, which deepens work friendships.

At Work
Go Paperless
I will avoid printing 5 pieces of paper by "going digital" and printing double-sided whenever possible.
At Work
Last to Leave? Lights Out, Please!
Lighting makes up approximately 10% of hospitals' energy use on average. I will save energy by turning off unnecessary lights when not in use and when I am the last one to leave a space.
At Work
Turn It Off
I will turn my computer monitor(s) off at my work station when not in use to save energy (I will follow my organization's IT instructions for keeping on, turning off, or restarting computers).

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt WorkWas this action easy to add to your daily routine? Why or why not?
Lesley Jeffries 4/08/2025 11:38 AMYes and it allowed my computer to update and refresh. Instead of just logging off and locking, I just shut down instead of locking. No changes in the amount of time that it takes to finish my day and the action has been easy to add to daily routine
