The ability to communicate constructively fosters a positive and productive work environment. Whether you’re providing feedback to a colleague, handling criticism, or simply seeking to improve workplace dynamics, mastering constructive communication is essential.
    https://nulab.com/learn/collaboration/5-tips-for-delivering-constructive-criticism-effectively/

Communication is important in relationships. We need to talk openly and be good listeners.

One of the best ways to improve your family life is by improving your communication skills. Communication skills go a long way toward helping children express their feelings and develop their social skills. Children learn how to communicate with their family members.

What are some ways water is used in your work area? How can you and your colleagues be more efficient with water use?

    Shirley Mirous's avatar

In dialysis, water is a necessity. Everything from providing treatments to disinfection/cleaning equipment. We wash more than foam do to the amount of contact we have with chemicals and patients. Over all the department does really well with water consumption. Leaks are called in quickly, faucets aren't left running.

Plant-forward diets in health care: A prescription for patients and the planet: This article discussed the role of plant-based diets in preventing common causes of kidney disease, including type 2 diabetes, hypertension and obesity, along with reducing the progression and complications of kidney disease. Given that high-protein diets with high meat intake can contribute to increased incidence of chronic kidney disease and faster disease progression, Dr. Joshi encourages patients to follow a plant-dominant low-protein (PLADO) diet to treat and prevent kidney disease. He explained that following a plant-rich diet not only yields health benefits, but can also help mitigate climate change as emissions from plant-based products are 10-50 times lower than animal-based products. He went on to discuss how renal care contributes to health care's climate footprint, citing this study finding that dialysis is resource intensive with emissions per dialysis treatment equivalent to driving an average car for 149 miles.

    At Home Needs Vs. Wants
How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

    Shirley Mirous's avatar
    Shirley Mirous 4/16/2024 7:23 AM
Creativity has a way of sparking curiosity and bringing out our inner child, which are two important elements of cultivating joy.
Simplifying will allow your work and your relationships to feel effortless & you may find a deeper sense of inner peace.

Try focusing on the one thing that will have maximum impact on your role and do it with total commitment until it is finished. Switch off email and social reminders. Don’t deal with what shouts loudest, do what counts.

    In Our Communities Plant Trees
How is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?

    Shirley Mirous's avatar
    Shirley Mirous 4/16/2024 7:14 AM
Spending time around trees and looking at trees reduces stress, lowers blood pressure and improves mood.
Being IN nature has always been my happy place & gardening reduces my negative thoughts and feelings.

This was the start of our Pumpkin patch last fall.
