  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Well-being
How do you plan to increase your water intake during the day?

I plan to increase my water intake by refilling my hydro flask with me throughout the day and setting small reminders on my phone to take sips every hour. I’m also aiming to drink a full glass of water with each meal and swap out one of my afternoon coffees for water instead.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How did performing random acts of kindness make you feel? Were you surprised by any of the responses you received from recipients?

Performing random acts of kindness made me feel really fulfilled and connected. It reminded me how small gestures can make a big difference in someone’s day. I wasn’t necessarily looking for a reaction, but I was pleasantly surprised by how genuinely appreciative people were—some even got emotional, which I didn’t expect. It really reaffirmed how powerful kindness can be, even in the simplest forms.

How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

    Vannesa Ramirez's avatar

Creativity is essential to practicing simplicity because it helps me strip away the unnecessary and still find meaningful, effective solutions. To keep things simple, whether it’s in how I communicate, organize, or solve problems—I have to think outside the box. It’s not about doing less for the sake of less, it’s about being intentional and impactful. Creativity lets me reimagine how to do more with less, how to make processes smoother, visuals cleaner, or messages clearer without losing the point.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Well-being
What is one thing that you are grateful for today? How does practicing gratitude make you feel?

Today, I'm feeling especially grateful for my health and the stability of my income. In a world where both can be uncertain, having these foundations allows me to navigate life with a sense of security and peace.
Practicing gratitude like this has a profound impact on my well-being. It shifts my focus from what's lacking to what's abundant, fostering a more positive outlook. This mindset not only enhances my mental health but also encourages me to make thoughtful financial decisions, reinforcing my overall stability.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    At Work
How could you encourage your coworkers to develop the habit of turning lights off?

    Vannesa Ramirez's avatar
    Vannesa Ramirez 4/18/2025 7:30 AM

I’d start by setting the example and turning off lights myself, then add a friendly reminder near the switches. Maybe even turn it into a fun little team challenge with shoutouts or small prizes to make it stick!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

    Vannesa Ramirez's avatar
    Vannesa Ramirez 4/17/2025 7:25 AM
    • Local Food Lover 🍎
Human activities like pollution, overuse, and poor waste management harm water systems both globally and locally. In Arizona, issues include groundwater depletion, runoff, and drought. To help, I can reduce plastic use, conserve water, support clean water policies, and join local cleanups. Small actions can create big change. 💧🌎

I love desert wildflowers—especially brittlebush and penstemon! 🌼 They're not just beautiful, they support pollinators like bees and butterflies that help our entire ecosystem thrive. Even planting one native species or leaving out water during the dry months makes a difference.
Let’s keep showing up for our wellness and our wild spaces 🌎💚
