Tiffanie's actions
In Our Communities
Plant Trees
I will plant 1 tree(s) in my community, public parks, or backyard. Check out resources for which tree species are best to plant in your area.
One Healthcare
Environmental Footprint of Healthcare
I will spend 15 minutes learning about the environmental footprint of the healthcare industry, how it impacts health, and ways I can help reduce it.
In Our Communities
Volunteer in My Community
I will volunteer 8 hour(s) in my community during the challenge.
In Our Communities
Donate Items
I will help others in need and prevent useful items from going to landfill by donating 20 items.
One Healthcare
Climate Change Impacts on Health
I will spend 15 minutes learning about the ways climate change impacts health.
At Work
Use Reusables at Work
I will keep 6 forks, spoons, and/or knives from entering the landfill by using reusable utensils when eating at work.
In Our Communities
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 2 piece(s) of litter each day.
Health & Well-being
Less Screen Time
I will replace 30 minute(s) of screen time per day with other activities, and limit my social media use to once per day.
At Work
Last to Leave? Lights Out, Please!
Lighting makes up approximately 10% of hospitals' energy use on average. I will save energy by turning off unnecessary lights when not in use and when I am the last one to leave a space.
Health & Well-being
Learn About Constructive Communication
I will spend 15 minute(s) learning about constructive communication.
One Healthcare
Donate Blood
I will donate blood in my community to make sure there are adequate supplies for routine medical services and emergencies.
At Work
Go Paperless
I will avoid printing 3 pieces of paper by "going digital" and printing double-sided whenever possible.
At Work
Turn It Off
I will turn my computer monitor(s) off at my work station when not in use to save energy (I will follow my organization's IT instructions for keeping on, turning off, or restarting computers).
In Our Communities
Buy From a Farmers Market
I will purchase produce and/or meat from a local farmers market or food co-op to make 5 locally-sourced meals.
In Our Communities
Support Diverse and Locally-Owned Businesses
I will promote equity and support my community by purchasing items at 6 diverse- and/or locally-owned businesses.

Tiffanie Rowe 4/17/2024 5:23 AMYesterday I came across the Catawba Riverkeeps which is an organization that plans cleanup days along our local Riverbanks that gets trashed by fishers and people exploring.
I can't think of a better way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday and got registered in minutes. I also signed up my husband, I may find something heavy! HAHA! -
Tiffanie Rowe 4/16/2024 7:02 AMI'm feeling very accomplished. I took a trip to the Recycling center yesterday to purge several bulky things that needed to be taken there. I have never taken anything to the center and wanted to go have a look. Very interesting place indeed. -

Tiffanie Rowe 4/12/2024 6:12 AMit's Friday cleanup day around the parking area here at work. Windy days bring lots of litter around our fence area. It's a win/win to get a few extra steps in and get the yard cleaned up.
