REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Compost Food WasteNew to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?
Chelsea Rowley 4/04/2024 8:13 AMFor the 2nd grade science fair I built/displayed a composting bin, and I have been composting on-and-off since then. I've been picking this habit back up for Earth Month, and my 2-year old child thinks it's quite awesome to venture outside with our compost materials and spin the barrel! :) We will be using the compost in our future garden beds.-
Mary Hoeschen 4/04/2024 10:09 AMI'm a bit of a compost nerd. I have a super small yard in MKE, but can fit a spinning compost barrel out there. It's great, but it can't quite handle all of our food and yard waste, so we also use Compost Crusader, which picks up a large wheelie bin from our curb every other week. It's great that our regular garbage has gotten so small, that we don't even need a pickup every week. Plus, it's not stinky!
