Ellen Schneider 4/30/2024 8:40 AMThis has been a powerful, positive experience. I appreciate seeing the combined impact that small changes can make. I often feel like my efforts are paltry and moot. So many big forces have such a huge impact on planetary health and they are beyond my control. But this is my planet, too. I'm glad that, small though they are, the changes I make do add up and that as a group, MCW has made a lot of great changes together. That is a wonderful thing. Thanks, SHE center, for bringing this Ecochallenge opportunity to campus. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONOne Healthcare Use A Reusable Mug/BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
Ellen Schneider 4/17/2024 8:59 AMUsing a reusable bottle is almost a regular habit now. The stumbling block is often making sure I have a chance to wash it and then remember to grab it again. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Learn the Truth about Expiration DatesWhat did you learn about expiration dates? How do you reduce food waste at home? What are some additional ways you can reduce food waste?
Ellen Schneider 4/16/2024 1:17 PMI didn't know that there was no legal requirement for dates on food other than baby formula. Knowing this will help me make better use of food resources for my family and I probably wouldn't have taken time to learn all this if not for this challenge. Thank you!
