Sonya Scott 4/30/2024 12:22 PMChallenges are met with ease when incorporated in daily life. I have enjoyed being a part of a group of people who find this meaningful. Sometimes I think we feel we are on a lonely quest, but finding others who want to be better, feel better, and make a better world reminds me there is a community out there who care and who understand!!! This has been great!-
Candice Miller 4/30/2024 3:03 PMBeautifully stated, Sonya. I couldn't agree more. I tell the members of my new Green Team that we are part of tribe of like-minded individuals, marching towards a common goal. It can feel lonely at times. Know we are out there. You just need to find/create your local tribe...it's easier when you can stand shoulder to shoulder with them.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”– Margaret Mead

Sonya Scott 4/26/2024 1:10 PMWith sustained yoga practice, even the idea of yoga elicits a sense of calm. That is amazing to me even after all these years. No special attributes are required for a yoga practice and I encourage everyone to consider finding a practice that suits them. I love teaching yoga as well and as I offer myself as teacher to my students I am filled with such peace it is impossible to describe. Even in the worst moments, when everything is falling apart or when I lose my temper or lose my way - there is serenity inside of that like the eye of a storm. We always move through it.-
Zoe Anastas (SWMC) 4/26/2024 5:41 PMI love that Sonya! I also find yoga very centering and rejuvenative. When I start or end my day with yoga, I find myself more productive and sleep better as well.

Sonya Scott 4/15/2024 10:04 AMI spend time every week learning about clean eating from some great sources. A couple of podcasts I use are NutritionFacts.org by Dr. Michael Greger and one by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine with my favorite presenters - Dr. Neil Barnard and Dr. Will Buslewicz. These are vegan sources and physicians but can still benefit everyone with evidence-based information. -
Sonya Scott 4/11/2024 12:37 PMI am a vegetarian of 32 years and vegan for 10 years. My transition to a full plant-based diet has been incredibly transformative and quite joyous. I feel amazing at age 66 and teach hot yoga part time. To live a life of clean eating and ethically as sound as I can make it brings meaning and true joy. I wish everyone could experience this as I do:)-
Candice Miller 4/11/2024 2:28 PMThat is truly inspiring, Sonya. Thank you for sharing your transformation with us. I wish I had the strength to make such a life change. We have incorporated vegetarian meals each week…little victories, ey?!
