Beth's actions
At Work
Last to Leave? Lights Out, Please!
Lighting makes up approximately 10% of hospitals' energy use on average. I will save energy by turning off unnecessary lights when not in use and when I am the last one to leave a space.
Health & Well-being
Reduce Refined Sugar
I will adopt a diet free of refined sugars, which eliminates sweetened beverages, candy, and processed foods.
At Work
Use Reusables at Work
I will keep 1 forks, spoons, and/or knives from entering the landfill by using reusable utensils when eating at work.
Health & Well-being
Do Nature Activities
I will engage in nature-based activities alone, or with my friends or family, for 20 minute(s) each day. (This can be anything from going on a walk or hike, to noticing the leaves changing color, to reading a book with nature themes.)
Health & Well-being
More Fruits and Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 2 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
One Healthcare
Environmental Footprint of Healthcare
I will spend 1 minutes learning about the environmental footprint of the healthcare industry, how it impacts health, and ways I can help reduce it.

Beth Smith 4/19/2024 4:14 AMI made my first patch of home made laundry soap. Super easy. My husband likes it better then store brands. Better for the environment, cost effective, and clothes look great! -
