Jolynn's actions
At Work
Recycling Champion
I will recycle 3 items at work and/or at home each day, making sure I review recycling program guidelines and only place accepted items that are clean, empty, and dry in the recycling bin.
Health & Well-being
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 15 minute(s) each day.
Health & Well-being
Learn About Constructive Communication
I will spend 30 minute(s) learning about constructive communication.
At Home
Adjust the Thermostat
I will adjust my thermostat down 2 degrees from usual when I use the heat, and up 2 degrees when I use air conditioning.
Health & Well-being
Healthy Hydration
I will improve hydration by drinking an additional 20oz of water each day. I will do this by drinking additional servings of water or by drinking water in place of other less healthy beverage options.
At Home
Practice the 5 r's
I will Practice the "5 Rs" — refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle — to reduce my waste more than I can with just recycling alone.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Jolynn Stanfield 4/11/2024 6:04 PMI have replaced all of my plastic food storage containers with glass & bamboo containers. It took some time, but I no longer have plastic storage. It also saved a lot of room in my cabinet. I have been using empty glass containers to use as food storage when I am sharing with my kids or friends.-
Monique Adams 4/18/2024 8:41 AMGood information. -

Emilie Rucker 4/01/2024 12:15 PMThat is exciting. Always easier to bundle up but let's hope it gets nice enough outside to where we don't need to turn our thermostats back up.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Well-being Healthy HydrationHow do you plan to increase your water intake during the day?
Jolynn Stanfield 4/01/2024 11:55 AMI have a new water bottle that I had fun decorating with silly stickers, I have started taking it with me everywhere. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Practice the 5 r'sWhich of the 5 R's was easiest for you? Which was the most difficult? How did practicing the 5 R's help you reduce more waste than recycling alone?
Jolynn Stanfield 4/01/2024 11:53 AMThe most difficult is getting the others in my household recycling as well. As I see recycled materials in the trash (plastic bottles, glass) I pull them out & place them in my recycle bin.
