You'll be an One Healthcare Ecochallenge 2025 expert in no time!
I will spend 30 minutes learning about how indoor air quality impacts health and commit to taking one action to improve indoor air quality in my living space.
I will spend at least 30 minutes learning how to differentiate between sell by, use by, and best by dates.
I will keep 10 disposable cup(s) and/or bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle, cup, or mug.
I will adopt a diet free of refined sugars, which eliminates sweetened beverages, candy, and processed foods.
I will replace 20 minute(s) of screen time per day with other activities, and limit my social media use to once per day.
I will pick up 1 piece(s) of litter each day.
I will reflect on how I am feeling and express myself through writing, art, music, physical activity, or another creative way to enhance well-being
I will recognize 1 colleague(s) for their sustainability efforts on our team feed, in-person, by email, and/or through my organization's recognition platforms.
I will increase my step count by 100 each day and will take breaks from sitting by briefly getting up and moving once per hour during the day.
Lighting makes up approximately 10% of hospitals' energy use on average. I will save energy by turning off unnecessary lights when not in use and when I am the last one to leave a space.
I will prevent water from being wasted by reporting one or more leaky faucets, toilets, or other water leaks to my organization's facilities team for repair.
I will improve hydration by drinking an additional 8oz of water each day. I will do this by drinking additional servings of water or by drinking water in place of other less healthy beverage options.
I will spend 15 minutes learning about the environmental footprint of the healthcare industry, how it impacts health, and ways I can help reduce it.
Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will spend 10 minutes learning about which items are recyclable both at my workplace and at home since they may be different, and recycle only those items.
I pledge to take one action that improves the sustainability of my organization in 2025. It can be an action from this challenge or another action that improves resource stewardship.
I will learn one new fact about my community each day (history, geography, local wildlife, resources, programs, current issues, goals, etc.)
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?
