Melissa's actions
One Healthcare
Use A Reusable Mug/Bottle
I will keep 1 disposable cup(s) and/or bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle, cup, or mug.
Health & Well-being
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 90 minute(s) each day.
At Home
Brush My Teeth Without Water Running
I will save up to 4 gallons (15 L) of water each day by turning it off while brushing my teeth.
Health & Well-being
More Fruits and Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 1 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
In Our Communities
Use Reusable Bags
I will refuse 1 of single-use paper or plastic bags each day by bringing my own reusable bags or carrying purchased goods another way.
At Home
Practice the 5 r's
I will Practice the "5 Rs" — refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle — to reduce my waste more than I can with just recycling alone.
Participant Feed

REFLECTION QUESTIONIn Our Communities Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items, but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? What tips do you have for others who are trying to form a habit of using reusable bags?
Melissa Tan 4/09/2024 5:18 AMStores usually have extra boxes/packing tape. If they can't spare a box, I've stacked and taped up items into a makeshift carrier. The florist stations in grocery stores usually have boxes/rubber bands. Reuseable bags that fold flat into a small pouch, some come with a clip for your bag/belt loop/keys. Once it's routine, you're set. -
