Debra's actions
At Home
Practice the 5 r's
I will Practice the "5 Rs" — refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle — to reduce my waste more than I can with just recycling alone.
At Home
Shorter Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers.
In Our Communities
Plant Trees
I will plant 2 tree(s) in my community, public parks, or backyard. Check out resources for which tree species are best to plant in your area.
At Home
Whole Foods Diet
I will enjoy 2 meal(s) each day free of processed foods.
At Work
Report a Leak
I will prevent water from being wasted by reporting one or more leaky faucets, toilets, or other water leaks to my organization's facilities team for repair.
At Home
Repair an Item
I will repair an item, such as clothing or an appliance, for myself, a friend, family member, or neighbor.
In Our Communities
Buy From a Farmers Market
I will purchase produce and/or meat from a local farmers market or food co-op to make 2 locally-sourced meals.

Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

Debra Tomasevich 4/23/2024 9:47 AMEveryone needs to stop disposing medications, chemicals and food waste down thier sink.
Don't litter water ways with medications, chemicals, and or any poisonous material. These will make it back to your drinking water supply.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Practice the 5 r'sWhich of the 5 R's was easiest for you? Which was the most difficult? How did practicing the 5 R's help you reduce more waste than recycling alone?
Debra Tomasevich 4/23/2024 9:36 AMNo more using plastic baggies/sandwich bags for food.
2 days I have reused the plastic baggy that I put my 12 grain bread in.
My lunch is in a reusable container which I have been doing for the past month.

Amy Downey 4/23/2024 1:41 PMI do this for my kindergartener too! I was concerned he would lose the container, but he's kept the same one all year! #worthashot
