At Work
Use Reusables at Work
I will keep 5 forks, spoons, and/or knives from entering the landfill by using reusable utensils when eating at work.

Go Paperless
I will avoid printing 10 pieces of paper by "going digital" and printing double-sided whenever possible.

At Work
Turn It Off
I will turn my computer monitor(s) off at my work station when not in use to save energy (I will follow my organization's IT instructions for keeping on, turning off, or restarting computers).
At Work
Stay Connected
I will schedule coffee breaks, lunches, and/or check-in meetings with 2 coworkers to promote connectivity in my workplace.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt WorkWhile one's plastic cutlery is a seemingly very small part of someone's "plastic impact", why do you think it's important for us to address this opportunity to reduce?

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt WorkWas this action easy to add to your daily routine? Why or why not?
Shayla Vega 4/03/2025 10:29 AM- Artist 🎨
Yes, for me at least it feels official that I am closing the day off, so I always shut down and turn off my computer so the next day when I turn it back on It too feels refreshed and ready to start. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAt WorkHow could you encourage your coworkers to develop the habit of turning lights off?
Shayla Vega 4/03/2025 8:16 AM- Artist 🎨
I turn off the lights pretty often at work while I am working. I convince them to turn them off after leaving as well in a way to say "bye for now" almost kind of closing the day off and leaving stresses and work feelings there.-
Shauna Junco 4/03/2025 11:04 AM- Green Team Leader 🤝
I love the idea of marking the end of your work day by turning off the lights and shutting down the computer. That’s a great way to mentally transition out of work and to maintain the habit!

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Well-beingWhat is one way you would like to improve your communication skills? Why is constructive communication important at work and at home?
Shayla Vega 4/03/2025 8:14 AM- Artist 🎨
I want to be able to better set boundaries. I'm known to be a people pleaser, and I want to be able to convey when something is wrong or when I say no. Having boundaries keeps people from feeling uncomfortable and stressed.-
shania goertz 4/03/2025 8:24 AM- Wellness Guru 🧘
In today's day, I feel most people do not listen. Constructive communication requires that. Listening to what the other person is saying and actually building a conversation. At work it's important for both of us as a care provider and the pt to listen and learn from one another to benefit the pt. IF we only went off of what we read in the chart we may miss important details. If the pt doesn't listen to us, it can greatly affect their wellbeing.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt WorkWhat have you found to be the biggest pros and cons of working from home?
Shayla Vega 4/03/2025 8:12 AM- Artist 🎨
I did have some distractions, but I was still able to snap back to focus and focus on my work. I was able to take steps and breath air outside easier. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Well-beingWhy is it important to express ourselves? How did you feel before and after your creative activity?
Shayla Vega 4/03/2025 7:27 AM- Artist 🎨
Its almost like ideas that you hold in and want to share because you know it would help someone or make someone happy or something positive. Once you get the idea out there and you engage positively with it you feel amazing after. Whenever I make my designs, I get super excited up until the moment I showcase them after that I feel a sense of "I did it" I feel accomplished and happy! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Well-beingWhat is one thing that you are grateful for today? How does practicing gratitude make you feel?
Shayla Vega 4/03/2025 7:24 AM- Artist 🎨
I am grateful to have a career where I am making a difference while also being able to use my creative ideas in my work. Graphic design is my true passion and being able to incorporate it into my daily tasks is amazing. Practicing gratitude also humbles you and keeps your mind open to more opportunities and possibilities. Keeps the negative thoughts away. -

It's pretty interesting so far, before learning about greenwashing I trusted in brands that use specific words to let audience know that they are eco-friendly, but I learned that I have to be more cautious when buying into those products from now on.-
Dayna Garcia De Alba, SACREDHEART 4/03/2025 8:11 AMI've been learning this too! I thought I was using some green products, when it turns out I wasn't.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt HomeWhat was the most interesting fact you learned about indoor air quality? Why is maintaining good indoor air quality so important?
Shayla Vega 4/03/2025 7:13 AM- Artist 🎨
One of the most interesting facts I learned about indoor air quality is that indoor air can be up to five times more polluted than outdoor air. Indoor air quality can be significantly worse due to terrible ventilation, dust, mold, chemicals from cleaning products, and even furniture and building materials.
Maintaining good indoor air quality is important because poor air quality can lead to health issues, allergies, and asthma.
