In Our Communities
Buy From a Farmers Market
I will purchase produce and/or meat from a local farmers market or food co-op to make 10 locally-sourced meals.
At Work
Recycling Champion
I will recycle 20 items at work and/or at home each day, making sure I review recycling program guidelines and only place accepted items that are clean, empty, and dry in the recycling bin.
At Home
Compost Food Waste
I will avoid sending food waste to the landfill by composting my food scraps.
At Home
Needs Vs. Wants
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
Health & Well-being
More Fruits and Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 2 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
In Our Communities
Plant Trees
I will plant 2 tree(s) in my community, public parks, or backyard. Check out resources for which tree species are best to plant in your area.
In Our Communities
Use Reusable Bags
I will refuse 4 of single-use paper or plastic bags each day by bringing my own reusable bags or carrying purchased goods another way.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
Laura Volk 4/03/2024 8:40 AMIt's so easy to get caught up in routine so you need to think outside of the box and be resourceful to make those changes such as repurposing blankets or furniture. I have been working on decluttering but do not want to just throw stuff out filling up a landfill. I had a plant stand that I no longer needed so it is now in the bathroom holding my curling iron and blow dryer.
