The spread of bacteria and increases in incidence of infections and antimicrobial-resistant infections are huge concerns of mine when it comes to the impact of climate change and health. Climate change is affecting my clincial practice here in central Florida as an infectious diseases pharmacist. -

I've started getting in a habit of periodically checking when I am going outside. Knock on wood we have had relatively good air quality here in Central Indiana this year so far. But I know I will be glad if I ever do unfortunately see an Air Quality Action alert, so that I will be able to take proper precautions. For example, if we know that we are heading into a week of high ground-level ozone or wildfire smoke, I can carpool or take public transportation and tweak my thermostat to lessen the effects of those activities' air pollution impact
