As I get busier and busier, it does become harder to take the time to check in on this. Trying to slow down and give myself the permission to go through this ecochallenge. Yup.-

Life gets away from us sometimes. Slowing down is a great option and give yourself permission to just breathe and take a moment. have a great day and thank you for sharing!

Today, I'm sharing the 3 things I am grateful for as part of one of my daily tasks. I was hesitant to take this challenge on, but as I move through this month, I am finding it easy to find things to be greatful for, and I have not as of yet even had a duplicate.
Today:
1. The great contractors our organization utilize to help us with projects and problems.
2. The team of techs that I work with day in and day out who are the glue that hold our facility together.
3. Soup, I'm thankful for soup, and am having it for lunch, and on chilly days, I'm not sure there is anything better to consume. -

I planted a bunch of grass seed this morning before work, its not a tree, but I thought about this challenge while doing it.-

Andrew,
I certainly have a fair amount of native species, various types of ground cover, along with a large amount of wild flowers that reduce the amount of sod grass I maintain. I also use an electric mower for the areas of grass I cover. Not trying to rain on the ecological parade, but for my landscaping, I do still enjoy having a bit of grass to maintain and connect the areas of my space, In the future I may give clover a try in some areas and I have researched creeping thyme which is appealing to me but it wasn't in the works for today. -

Have you considered planting native alternatives to sod grass? It's a great way to help local pollinators and once established it is generally less maintenance than maintaining a lawn. You can go the full range from returning the area to natural habitat (in my case prairie/grasslands) to grass alternatives that can handle some foot traffic like clover or buffalo grass. Your local extension office will have information specific to your area about how to go about this or you can google local native plant landscapers in your area to help. This is an example of a company in my area: Monarch Gardens - Monarch Gardens LLC

I took the stairs every time I didn't have a cart or items I needed to deliver. Getting them steps in!
