Happy Friday! I live in NWI and commute about 45 minutes to South Chicago everyday. This weekend my hometown is hosting a "Park Clean Up" from 10am-12pm that I have volunteered to attend! I'm grateful to be able to help my community in any ways I can!

I parked 3 blocks away from the hospital and walked almost 10 minutes instead of parking closer. I also did not sit with my car on or let it idle once I parked.

That’s awesome! I didn’t think of letting my car idle while parked. I think I do that a lot. That’s something I will also work on. Thank you!

Last week I saved all of my cardboard boxes as well as all any empty bottles I had and brought them to my parents' house and recycled it all in their recycling can!

I've taken it upon myself to start a recycling challenge at my apartment complex. Unfortunately, there is not recycling option there, unless you recycle your stuff and find a recycling bin out of the complex. My challenge for the rest of the this month is to collect all of my recycling and physically drive it to a recycle plant (or my parent's house and use their recycling bin), in order to decrease the amount of recycling getting put into a dumpster to be trashed!

I am always amazed that places still exist that don't offer recycling! It is probably way more common than I realize, sadly. I remember when recycling was first introduced in my town growing up in the 90s, and I've never looked back! Great job on challenging yourself and hopefully others will join in as well! It is inconvenient to have to drive it in yourself, but hopefully it isn't too far away!
