Anita's actions
At Home
Switch to Cold Water
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
One Healthcare
Donate Blood
I will donate blood in my community to make sure there are adequate supplies for routine medical services and emergencies.
At Work
Last to Leave? Lights Out, Please!
Lighting makes up approximately 10% of hospitals' energy use on average. I will save energy by turning off unnecessary lights when not in use and when I am the last one to leave a space.
At Home
Shorter Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers.
At Home
Needs Vs. Wants
I will adopt a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
At Home
Brush My Teeth Without Water Running
I will save up to 4 gallons (15 L) of water each day by turning it off while brushing my teeth.
Health & Well-being
Taking Steps to Promote Well-being
I will increase my step count by 20 each day and will take breaks from sitting by briefly getting up and moving once per hour during the day.
Health & Well-being
Learn About Constructive Communication
I will spend 20 minute(s) learning about constructive communication.
Health & Well-being
Mindfulness / Meditation Practice
I will spend 20 minute(s) per day practicing Mindfulness and/or Meditation.
At Home
Choose LED Bulbs
I will replace 4 incandescent lightbulb(s) with Energy Star-certified LED bulbs, saving up to $14 per fixture per year.

Anita Jordan 4/25/2024 12:43 PMI have learned to push myself further with my exercise habits. This platform has heightened my awareness of the individual actions I can take to aid the Earth. I have tremendously increased my steps since starting, despite a bit of a late start, lol. But seriously, it has been an enjoyable journey, and I look forward to continuing my part, big or small, in environmental sustainability. -
Anita Jordan 4/24/2024 8:32 AMI am so excited that I joined. As a mother of a son with asthma, I am happy to be a part of making the earth and air healthier for him. And I love encouraging others to do so as well. So, I am leading my family by example.-
