We did a great job, congrats to my fellow team members! I joined because I try to reduce waste and improve the quality of the quantity of our (shared) resources; I've always thought that I should leave the planet better off than the way it was when I got here, and I take every opportunity to address and reinforce that mission. Great job, everyone!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health & Well-being Less Screen Time
What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

    Thameenah Saleem's avatar
    Thameenah Saleem 4/09/2024 5:25 AM
Today, it won't be as difficult to avoid my screens as my day is filled to the brim, but I'm glad that I'll have the opportunity to practice being more mindful. Work will be my biggest distraction :)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Well-being Exercise Daily
How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

    Thameenah Saleem 4/09/2024 5:20 AM
A nice, slow walk about 45 minutes after dinner is a good way to incorporate exercise into your daily routine. It can also be a great way to bond with family, friends, or neighbors.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
At Work Use Reusables at Work
While one's plastic cutlery is a seemingly very small part of someone's "plastic impact", why do you think it's important for us to address this opportunity to reduce?

    Thameenah Saleem's avatar
    Thameenah Saleem 4/09/2024 5:16 AM
We want the planet to be in a good condition when the next generation inherits it, so it is imperative that we reduce waste and increase our efforts to providing a more sustainable environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Well-being Healthy Sleep
Consider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?

    Thameenah Saleem's avatar
    Thameenah Saleem 4/04/2024 7:00 AM
I've found that reducing stimuli within 1 to 2 hours prior to the time that I want to sleep has helped tremendously with getting to sleep and staying asleep. If you look at a screen or listen to audio before bedtime, then you may want to incrementally reduce the volume and/or brightness during that 1 to 2-hour period.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
At Work Last to Leave? Lights Out, Please!
How could you encourage your coworkers to develop the habit of turning lights off?

    Thameenah Saleem's avatar
    Thameenah Saleem 4/03/2024 5:33 AM
It only takes two seconds to be more energy efficient.
