Sara Donovan 4/29/2024 4:29 AMThe biggest change this challenge inspired in me is to start hanging out my clothes instead of using the dryer. I am surprised that I was able to do it. Thanks for the push to do better! -
Sara Donovan 4/02/2024 6:40 AMThe biggest change I am making is stopping the use of my dryer. Means either looking a little rumpled or possibly ironing more (not happening) so it was a hard one to decide to do. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Compost Food WasteNew to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?
Sara Donovan 4/01/2024 12:43 PMIt's mostly vegetable peels and cores, etc. I am composting in Waterville at the municipal site where I don't get the compost - and am not sure how it is used. Just saves me from putting the food in the trash. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIn Our Communities Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community? What was the most common item you found littered?
Sara Donovan 4/01/2024 12:41 PMIt makes me feel like the Inland woods trails are mine and I keep them clean for everyone. The most common item is wrappers. Thankfully very few. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIn Our Communities Drive ElectricWhat helpful tips can you offer to new electric vehicle owners?
Sara Donovan 4/01/2024 12:40 PMPlan your trips and charging so you can keep the car between 20% and 80% most of the time to extend the battery. -
Sara Donovan 3/18/2024 11:06 AMI'm excited about this ecochallenge! I am trying to add the action of driving an electric car but it won't let me - says I have to remove other actions before I can add it but it won't seem to let me do that either. Hope someone can help me.-
Brian Nelson (SWMC) 3/18/2024 1:29 PMHi Sara - I can see that you've got six daily actions chosen. To keep it do-able since you'll be meant to log in each day to confirm that you did each of your chosen actions, six is the limit. You'll just need to remove one of these if you'd prefer to track your EV usage. It's up to you - I will suggest though that the EV one is a great one to keep as transportation emissions are one of the most impactful things that we all do each day! Let me know if any other questions. :)
