  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Have you considered doing a review of your work practices to see if there are opportunities to go digital with a process that has historically been paper-based at your organization?

This challenge has me questioning whether I really need paper copies of things I would have once printed. I have started saving things electronically instead, which, in the long run, makes them easier to access from everywhere. Win, Win!

I do have to have paper copies for a lot of things in my position, but I have different types of white boards and trackers that I can use rather than paper for a lot of things like project task notes or calendars. For a class that I teach, my colleague has laminated several of our paper-based needs so that we have them as we are moving or to pass out, but can re-use them for the next session. Another option for when you can't just store things electronically.

    Why do you donate blood?

I had never been able to donate blood in the past, due to multiple medical reasons in the past. I was able to complete a donation for the 1st time at our blood drive. It felt good to give back!

Meeting with these peers helped me transition to my new role as well as understand how our areas are connected and function together.
