This is a new step for me. I am very grateful for many things in my life, but have never written them down before and intentionally reflected about it before.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Do you live in an area that is water secure or with water scarcity? What other actions do you take to use water more efficiently?

We are water secure, one way I plan to save on water this year is to plant local pollinating plants and grasses to avoid watering as much. This will decrease water use, support pollinators and increase our personal time, as we will not need to mow as much.

We went lawn-free two summers ago and have never looked back! We love our native plant landscaping and it's been amazing to watch our tiny ecosystem coming back to life with butterflies, bees, birds, and critters. We even had a tiny screech owl visitor perched just outside our kitchen window at one point!

Ensure our assigned electronics are purchased and updated using a low energy quotient. Encouraging non-use of paper products by keeping up to date apps on our laptops that ensure ease of use to perform our jobs.

Thank you for this perspective! I often remind my team to update apps, but it never occurred to me that this is a sustainability practice. I will start talking about this benefit of staying updated with my team!
