REFLECTION QUESTIONOne HealthcareWhat surprised you most about the healthcare industry's impact on climate and health? What is one action you can take to make a positive impact?
laura karn 4/15/2025 8:54 AMWE have a lot of waste; be from the amount of paper we use per day just from the exam beds is massive, and the is just the from the beds add into that the paper towels we go through, and the plastic ear covers for the auroscope. We need a better way to keep the patients safe and the room clean but also reduce the paper waste. Instead of using plastic covers use re-useable covers that we keep in antiseptic. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONOne HealthcareHow did you feel before and after completing this exercise? What step(s) do you plan to take next?
laura karn 4/15/2025 8:50 AM- Explorer 🗺
before I did not feel a certain way. Now I am feeling that I should be doing something to make sure the earth is still here for my Neces and Nephew. So, since I love planting things and gardening, I am going to have them help me this year with the planting and such. As we plant, I will teach them about how the plants and trees keep the air clean and how the bees help and such.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONIn Our CommunitiesHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
laura karn 4/10/2025 7:14 AM- Explorer 🗺
For myself it was good for my mental health because it was a tree in memory of my grandmother that pasted away. I now have something to physically look at to remind me of her whenever I am missing her. As for my physical health it was a workout to dig the hole and plant the tree. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONOne HealthcareShare a creative way you've expressed gratitude to a colleague. How did it make you feel?
laura karn 4/09/2025 10:55 AM- Explorer 🗺
I saw a coworker pick up some trash that was in the parking lot today and told her " good Job at keeping the parking lot looking good." and gave her a high five. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONOne HealthcareWhat are the benefits of connecting with new colleagues? How have you fostered meaningful connections with others?
laura karn 4/07/2025 6:45 AM- Explorer 🗺
by making connections with other colleagues that are out of my current Pod is beneficial. For example, I made a connection with a colleague that works in the cardiology department. So, If I have a patient needs a test but I am unsure if they do said test in that department. I can send a team's message to them and ask if that is a test they do.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt WorkWhat are some of the benefits you've noticed from connecting with colleagues at work?
laura karn 4/04/2025 8:00 AM- Explorer 🗺
I have found others that are like minded and enjoy the same things that I do. I have also found a group of girls that support each other in everything be it at work in their personal lives.
