REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Work Turn It OffWas this action easy to add to your daily routine? Why or why not?
Nicole LeCapitaine 4/26/2024 12:52 PMTurning off my computer monitors is a very simple task. So simple, it has inspired me to find other "easy" ways to save electricity. One thing I have looked into is "ghost energy" which pulls electricity when not in use. I have now started unplugging items that are not in use. -
Nicole LeCapitaine 4/22/2024 1:23 PMIs anyone doing anything special to commemorate Earth Day? After work, I am going to walk through the park near my house and collect garbage.-
Nicole LeCapitaine 4/22/2024 2:22 PMHi Candice! I am also bringing gloves :) ALSO, you bring up a good point - does dog poop count as garbage? I have two dogs . . .
Just kidding :) -
Candice Miller 4/22/2024 2:11 PMThat's a great idea, Nicole! I took the opportunity to walk outside from one meeting to the next and picked up some trash along the way. I plan to up my collection today on a walk later with the dogs.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Compost Food WasteNew to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?
Nicole LeCapitaine 4/19/2024 3:54 PMI am new to composting. Even though my mother/neighbor offers to let me use her Compost Crusaders bin (https://www.compostcrusader.com), I didn't frequently use it. Since the challenge started, I have used it almost daily. It is creating a new habit and I like that I find myself checking what I am throwing into the garbage before I do it.-
James Howard (SW) 4/19/2024 4:02 PMI have a compost bin and actually took out my compost from my kitchen today! I also put in some coffee grounds. There is something living in there because I find tunnel openings.

Nicole LeCapitaine 4/17/2024 9:15 AMIn case you were not aware, you get more points for doing a daily check-in, rather than going back (which is what I was doing) to check in. -
Nicole LeCapitaine 4/17/2024 9:11 AMI am constantly scanning the ground for garbage to pick up. I am not sure this is a good thing . . . :)
