  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    At Home Repair an Item
What was the last item you repaired? How did you do it and what was the outcome? What are your favorite resources for learning how to repair items yourself?

I need to repair a light switch along with some touch up painting around the house this weekend. If you respect electricity and get the hang of it, you'll find it's as little as a $3 job. Sometimes it's a loose wire and just a little time. There are plenty of books and resources online.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    One Healthcare Strength in Numbers
Does working with others toward a common cause motivate or inspire you to act differently than you otherwise would? How can collaboration lead to more sustainable outcomes?

    Lyle Peterson 4/24/2024 6:05 AM
It does not inspire me to act differently, but it provides opportunities to utilize other tools and services I might not have known were available.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
At Home Switch to Cold Water
How else can you reduce the environmental footprint of clothing and textiles?

Donating items as opposed to throwing them away. You don't necessarily need to wash clothes after every use.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Well-being Exercise Daily
How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

Our Allina team rides provide a chance to catch up with each other while getting in some cardio.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Livestock farming, particularly cattle, produces significant amounts of methane, a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming.

It definitely depends on where your meat is coming from. Typical stockyards in America are definitely detrimental to the environment, whereas planned grazing can actually help sequester carbon out of the air and help plants to grow properly and abundantly. Something to think about as you shop for beef:)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    At Home Needs Vs. Wants
How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

Creativity and simplicity might seem like opposites at first glance, but they're actually deeply intertwined, especially when it comes to practices like minimalism or simplifying one's life.
