This week I volunteered 5 hours in the community. The biggest thing I have been doing this month to help the community become more sustainable is sharing information about the EcoChallenge and giving people ideas I am learning from these great daily reminders.

Today I was able to work in the basement and find items for repurposing. I was able to donate 5 items to our upcoming United Way silent auction. Excited about how organized I am getting AND the good it is doing for others who have been excited to get some of these items.

Fresh perspectives, you get to meet their connections, new friends, learn about other locations, etc. I get on meetings early to introduce myself, do virtual coffee chats, came to the 5K in Champaign, have done online onboarding with people across Carle as I am new to Carle via the GPA integration.

Today I focused on my garage and got rid of 20 items which I put curbside with a free sign and gave what didn't get picked up to goodwill. I was happy to see so many items in the box get rehomed.....including a VERY large chandelier.

I really committed to the Lights Out Challenge yesterday....turning off lights everywhere I went. I never realized how much I leave certain lights on in my office and at home out of habit.
