You'll be an One Healthcare Ecochallenge 2025 expert in no time!
I will keep 3 disposable cup(s) and/or bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle, cup, or mug.
I will improve hydration by drinking an additional 8oz of water each day. I will do this by drinking additional servings of water or by drinking water in place of other less healthy beverage options.
I will help others in need and prevent useful items from going to landfill by donating 100 items.
I will repair an item, such as clothing or an appliance, for myself, a friend, family member, or neighbor.
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 30 minute(s) each day.
I will plant 2 tree(s) in my community, public parks, or backyard. Check out resources for which tree species are best to plant in your area.
I will make 4 appointments to support my health and well-being (primary care provider, dental, vision, etc.)
I will work from home 5 day(s) to avoid my commute's carbon output.
I will refuse 3 of single-use paper or plastic bags each day by bringing my own reusable bags or carrying purchased goods another way.
I will volunteer 1 hour(s) in my community during the challenge.
I will spend at least 10 minutes learning how to differentiate between sell by, use by, and best by dates.
I will commit to getting 30 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.
I will increase my step count by 1000 each day and will take breaks from sitting by briefly getting up and moving once per hour during the day.
Hand washing dishes can use more energy and hot water than running a full dishwasher. To save water, I will scrape instead of rinsing dishes before loading them into the dishwasher, and only run it when it is full.
I will keep 6 forks, spoons, and/or knives from entering the landfill by using reusable utensils when eating at work.
I will turn my computer monitor(s) off at my work station when not in use to save energy (I will follow my organization's IT instructions for keeping on, turning off, or restarting computers).
I will save up to 4 gallons (15 L) of water each day by turning it off while brushing my teeth.
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?
