At Work
Recycling Champion
I will recycle 5 items at work and/or at home each day, making sure I review recycling program guidelines and only place accepted items that are clean, empty, and dry in the recycling bin.
At Work
Use Reusables at Work
I will keep 2 forks, spoons, and/or knives from entering the landfill by using reusable utensils when eating at work.
At Home
Switch to Cold Water
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
At Home
Choose LED Bulbs
I will replace 3 incandescent lightbulb(s) with Energy Star-certified LED bulbs, saving up to $14 per fixture per year.

I will donate blood in my community to make sure there are adequate supplies for routine medical services and emergencies.

One Healthcare
Use A Reusable Mug/Bottle
I will keep 1 disposable cup(s) and/or bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle, cup, or mug.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Work Recycling ChampionWhen did you learn about recycling? Why is recycling important to you?
Miranda Trost 4/06/2024 7:49 PMI believe I learned about the importance of recycling in middle school but I did not feel passionate about it until my high school years. This is important to me because this is an easy way for people to help keep the landfills from piling up. I don’t think we realize just how much junk we acquire/produce as humans. We need to do our part even if it does seem small. -
Miranda Trost 4/06/2024 7:45 PMThis challenge has inspired me to bring my own silverware to work as well as a coffee mug found at Goodwill to keep at work so that I do not have to use disposable cups for coffee anymore.-
James Howard (SW) 4/06/2024 7:49 PMThat is fantastic! I am frustrated at the amount of plastic utensils and styrofoam cups used in my breakroom.
