I will enjoy 2 meal(s) each day free of processed foods.

Health & Well-being
Gratitude
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for every day.
At Work
Use Reusables at Work
I will keep 10 forks, spoons, and/or knives from entering the landfill by using reusable utensils when eating at work.

I will adjust my thermostat down 2 degrees from usual when I use the heat, and up 2 degrees when I use air conditioning.
In Our Communities
Donate Items
I will help others in need and prevent useful items from going to landfill by donating 10 items.
At Home
Switch to Cold Water
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
Participant Feed

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Work Use Reusables at WorkWhile one's plastic cutlery is a seemingly very small part of someone's "plastic impact", why do you think it's important for us to address this opportunity to reduce?
UC San Diego Health 4/22/2024 8:32 PMThis year’s Earth Month theme is Planet vs. Plastics and every little bit counts. Reducing plastic cutlery is not only important in phasing out single use plastics, but microplastics in our bodies have been linked to everything from cancer to Alzheimer’s.-
Catherine Lyons 4/23/2024 12:28 PMI saw a picture in my facebook of kayakers helping to remove plastic from the Seine in preparation for the Paris Olympics - I had no idea it was so polluted and you cannot easily remove the miniscule particles -
Barbara Hamilton 4/23/2024 11:36 AMPlastic pollution is a more profound issue than many understand. Thanks for sharing!

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Whole Foods DietWhat benefits do whole foods and plant-based foods have on health and the environment?
UC San Diego Health 4/12/2024 9:45 AMEating a whole foods diet not only boosts your health with a rainbow of nutrients, but it also has a much lower carbon footprint than processed foods. It’s a delicious way to nourish your body while helping Mother Earth thrive. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONOne Healthcare Use A Reusable Mug/BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
UC San Diego Health 4/10/2024 8:55 PMUsing reusable water bottles not only reduces plastic waste but is better for your health by minimizing exposure to harmful chemicals leached from plastic bottles. Plus they’re better at keeping water cool and fun to look at, too!-
Kristi Clardy 4/11/2024 5:52 AMI have found that for myself I keep a reusable water bottle at work and one that stays home. This holds me accountable while I am working and I have been able to increase my water intake by this way. -
Sara Menvielle 4/11/2024 2:58 AMI don’t go anywhere without my Hydroflask! They even have an app that you can download and see places in your area that have water bottle refill stations.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Well-being GratitudeWhat is one thing that you are grateful for today? How does practicing gratitude make you feel?
UC San Diego Health 4/09/2024 8:35 PMI’m grateful for the awe-inspiring wonders of the universe, like the recent solar eclipse. Practicing gratitude helps me feel more connected to the world around me and fills me with a sense of wonder and appreciation.-
Barbara Hamilton 4/10/2024 9:18 AMThat eclipse was so much fun! It made us all take a moment and allow ourselves to enjoy the magic of the universe together. -
Sara Menvielle 4/10/2024 4:46 AMSan Diego has been busy with cool things in the sky between the eclipse and the Space X launches!

UC San Diego Health 4/04/2024 11:21 AMThis Earth Month, let's challenge ourselves to live more sustainably, prioritize our well-being, and cultivate a sense of gratitude for the natural world around us. Together, we can make a positive impact!-
Nicole Poletto 4/09/2024 12:53 PMI love this. I have personally focused on being more thoughtful on my impact both at home and at work. For example, what are my opportunities to reduce plastic from my day-to-day routine? The changes that I make (eg switching to shampoo bars) have a visible impact, and I have less overall stuff!
