BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

At Work Use Reusables at Work
While one's plastic cutlery is a seemingly very small part of someone's "plastic impact", why do you think it's important for us to address this opportunity to reduce?

Our rehab team was gifted a set of travel silverware to use at work. Thank you Kristine! Prior to that, I had a spoon and fork in my lunch bag to avoid using/throwing out platicware.
My daughter graduates next year- I am starting to look at compostable sliverware/plates for her open house!

I'm saving paper as I put reminders for things in my computer or cell phone so I'm not using scratch paper for lists and what-not.

Nearly all of the lights in the new Gillette office space are on motion sensors so turning them off happens if we leave and/or sit very still

At Home Practice the 5 r's
Which of the 5 R's was easiest for you? Which was the most difficult? How did practicing the 5 R's help you reduce more waste than recycling alone?

Recycling is the easiest because we have a recycle bin that keeps it at the forefront of our minds! Today, when my leave in hair conditioner ran out, I checked the bottom to confirm whether it could be recycled. It could be, so I recycled it! It was a hard to see, so I normally would have probably thrown it away. Instead, I took an extra moment to go where the light was better to see for sure.

At Home Brush My Teeth Without Water Running
Do you live in an area that is water secure or with water scarcity? What other actions do you take to use water more efficiently?

I only run the dishwasher when full. When washing dishes by hand I fill the sink rather than continually running water.
I collect rainwater to help water my garden.

    Plastics harm the environment.

I've been doing so many of these things already, but it's a great reminder of things I may not have thought about.

Yes. We have our water pressure set very low and have planted native plants so there is no watering needed.
