Just a few days left! Remember to check in and take any one-time actions you have remaining. It’s fun to see the collective impact made by our organization so far. All of your individual actions are adding up and making a difference. 💚🌎

How can I add actions if the date has passed? Sometimes I forget or I was in training, but I've been unable to update if it's a few days to a week old. If I can't, that's ok, and I'll be more mindful about entering, but wanted to check! Thanks! :)

      Hi Jennifer,

In your dashboard (tab on the upper right), you should be able to click through the days or click directly on the day you had in mind. Let me know if that works!

What did you learn about expiration dates? How do you reduce food waste at home? What are some additional ways you can reduce food waste?

Freeze meat before use by date and eggs will stay good in the coldest part of the fridge for 3-5 weeks following purchase

At Work Use Reusables at Work
While one's plastic cutlery is a seemingly very small part of someone's "plastic impact", why do you think it's important for us to address this opportunity to reduce?

This year’s Earth Month theme is Planet vs. Plastics and every little bit counts. Reducing plastic cutlery is not only important in phasing out single use plastics, but microplastics in our bodies have been linked to everything from cancer to Alzheimer’s.

I saw a picture in my facebook of kayakers helping to remove plastic from the Seine in preparation for the Paris Olympics - I had no idea it was so polluted and you cannot easily remove the miniscule particles

Plastic pollution is a more profound issue than many understand. Thanks for sharing!

Congratulations Joann! Are you having solar PV installed at your property or will you be part of a purchasing agreement? SunRun is one of the bigger names in the field.

I honestly did not do my research. I’m having sunrun install the panels. Hopefully it gets down before summer.

More shopping at Trader Joe's and less shopping at Costco (too much goes to waste when shopping for just 1 or 2 if shopping at Costco)

I hear ya, Catherine. I can’t stand to see things go to waste either. I ran into something similar so now I shop at Costco and split the food items with my sister, my brother, or my best friend, depending on what was bought.

Like the other comment says, I also try splitting food items with my family if we get something at Costco. Or, depending on what food item it is, I will individually freeze them so i can use them at a later time!
But going to Trader Joe’s is so fun. I also love Sprouts (which we don’t have in Ohio but I went to all the time when I was in San Diego). Their sandwiches they make from the deli are so good!
