REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Repair an ItemWhat was the last item you repaired? How did you do it and what was the outcome? What are your favorite resources for learning how to repair items yourself?
Angela Brewster 4/30/2024 8:20 AMI had bought this cute basket to hold apples, months ago. But it's one that 'rocks'. The apples make off balance so it always looks tipped. I was going to take it goodwill to drop off. But instead I took bread ties and tied it in place. Now it's perfect.-
Sara Menvielle 4/30/2024 9:06 AMLove it! Very resourceful!

REFLECTION QUESTIONIn Our Communities Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community? What was the most common item you found littered?
Angela Brewster 4/30/2024 8:14 AMNow when I'm driving somewhere & I see garbage on /near the road, I just want to stop & pick it up. Most likely, that is not an option but I'm very aware of it now.
Most of what I'm finding is wrappers, plastic bottles. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Well-being Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Angela Brewster 4/30/2024 8:08 AM6 hours is my average. I have lived getting more sleep during this challenge, but still hv not done it every night. I need to better organize my time & chores to get to bed earlier. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAt Home Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
Angela Brewster 4/30/2024 8:04 AMThere are things I have wanted to purchase but have certainly thought twice about because of this challenge. And even for the things I've needed, I've tried to limit my driving, take my own bags &boxes. I used 2 old jelly jars for paint brushes & water instead of buying something new to use.-
Melissa Ondricek 4/30/2024 8:09 AMNice work!

REFLECTION QUESTIONIn Our Communities Plant TreesHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
Angela Brewster 4/30/2024 7:59 AMTrees give off the oxygen we need. Plus they are beautiful. And they provide shade that my pale skin desperately needs! If I had more room in my yard, I would plant even more! -
Angela Brewster 4/30/2024 7:56 AMI exceeded my number of days I had planned to work from home, so I'm happy about that! -
Angela Brewster 4/29/2024 5:59 AMBeautiful day. Breakfast with some friends and yard work. But then I was exhausted and only grabbed a couple pieces of trash.
RAK: I was craving chocolate, picked up some desserts for my BF & his son as well.
At breakfast I made sure to ask each of my friends how things are going in their lives, gave encouragement. -
Angela Brewster 4/29/2024 5:53 AMSpring cleaning. Exhausting but feels good! So I only had time to grab a few pieces of trash.-
Zoe Anastas (SWMC) 4/29/2024 7:25 AMEvery piece of trash picked up makes a difference! Imagine if everyone would pick-up 5 pieces per day! -
Adam Moen 4/29/2024 6:25 AMI feel that. It's tough but the feeling afterwards is great!

Angela Brewster 4/29/2024 5:49 AMI have been busy and not taking my walks to pick up trash. So now I'm just hurrying to grab a few pieces on my street.
RAK: let 2 cars in front of me. Picked up a friend for dinner that is having a rough time. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIn Our Communities Volunteer in My CommunityHow did volunteering in your community make you feel? What is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
Angela Brewster 4/29/2024 5:41 AMI started off deciding in Nov '23 that I want to volunteer at least 1x a month. Now I'm doing 2x a month because I see that there are SO many organizations that need help and just not enough people to go around. I wish I had time to do even more.
I would like to get more people in the neighborhood to at least help with picking up their own trash and help out an elderly neighbor.
